Salutations! Live from the “War Room” (the location that I and Cartoon Daily News’ Kendall Lyons collaboratively work and write), here’s the top news of the day!
Weaving and Musings of Essencers — Writing on the first novel of the Aelathia Chronicles is completed, sent off to a small group of “beta readers”, folks that have read sci-fi/fantasy and will hopefully give me some honest feedback. Not superstitious…but fingers crossed and here’s praying. In the meantime, I’m filling in a few gaps I noticed myself, small things like the measuring system and currencies of different nations. Every bit of detail helps the novel come alive.
New Projects — I’ve got a few projects in the oven right now. The first is, of course, the sequel to “Weaving”, that’s currently untitled. It literally picks up within hours of Weaving ending. The second project is in a heavy research and planning phase. Won’t say much about it yet, but it is a pre-during-and-post- apocalyptic sci-fi thriller. It’s been growing and developing so quickly in my mind, I felt it time to place the other novel I teased on Twitter, the one involving an intergalactic empire and an oily black cube with really nasty contents, to the side, alas. Trust me on this one.
I also have to hint at this. I love the concept of connecting all of novels in some way. I’ve read before that Brandon Sanderson does this, but I think as the Aelathia Chronicles continues, and as these other two novels come out, the connection will become frightfully clear.
Health — In the meantime, my health is crazy. The seizure-like spasms literally are exhausting, and I’ve fallen multiple times. Thankfully, only hit my head once with no sign of a concussion. The neurologist has me on heavier medication, which helps manage the spasms some, but after days of major “seizures” writing becomes difficult. What that means for the blog is, sadly, things are going to be moving slowly. To display my geekness, I dropped out of warp into impulse. (Live long and prosper.)
Alas, that means it’s more difficult for me to keep up with posts, especially guest posts. If I seem to be off the grid for a few days, I’m resting, because otherwise I shake it like a zombie. Thanks for your patience. If anything, follow my Twitter feed for updates.
That’s the War Room top news for the day. Be sure to check out CartoonDailyNews.com and KendallLyons.com for more on my great friend and fellow writer.
